Part-Time Store Associate / Cashier
About the role
Fate Grocery is looking for a dependable, friendly part-time Store Associate / Cashier to help with the everyday operations of our convenience store and gas station in Fate, Texas. In this hands-on role, you will assist customers, operate the register, stock merchandise, and keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming. This is an hourly position. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
What you’ll do
• Greet customers, answer routine questions, and provide friendly, helpful service. • Operate the point-of-sale register, process cash and card payments, make change accurately, and follow cash-handling procedures. • Check identification for age-restricted purchases and follow store policies and applicable sales requirements. • Receive and put away deliveries; stock shelves, coolers, and displays; rotate products; and check expiration dates. • Keep merchandise neat, ensure shelf labels are in place, and report low stock or damaged products. • Clean and maintain the sales floor, counters, restrooms, and other work areas; empty trash and replenish supplies. • Help keep the store entrance and fuel-pump area tidy, and promptly report spills, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions. • Follow safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures, and assist with opening, closing, and other routine store tasks as assigned.
What you’ll bring
• Must be at least 21 years old. • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to report for scheduled shifts. • Friendly communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. • Basic math skills and attention to detail when handling payments and merchandise. • Willingness to perform cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and other daily store duties. • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and with teammates, and handle changing priorities. • Ability to perform the essential duties of the role, including standing and walking during shifts, bending, reaching, and moving merchandise, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Retail, cashier, or convenience-store experience is helpful but not required.
